Smrkmar Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Hello,we are looking for 2 rooms for 4 adults and 2 toddlers for Xmas week (from 12/22 to 12/27) preferably in a 4-star hotel in Midtown East or Times Square area.Budget is around $150/night (excl.taxes) per room. (Max. $180)Room 1: 2 adults (king/queen bed)Room 2: 2 adults + 2 toddlers (2 double beds or 1 double + crib/rollaway) - is there an extra cost for this setting? Is this impossible due to the holiday season or do we still have a chance of getting a good deal? Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Is this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) How old will the toddlers be at the time of travel? This is actually after the high priced holiday season and the need for quad occupancy in one of the rooms will likely increase the price more so than the time of year. Searching HOTWIRE for 2rooms/4adults/2children shows a 4* hotel in the MTE zone for $143/nite:Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... my guess for this one would be the Roosevelt. Mixed reviews but a very good location. There is also a 4* hotel for $180/nite in the ESB zone which i'm guessing is the Hotel Chandler which gets excellent reviews.Let us know your thoughts on the occupancy issue (PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE) and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
