Priceline Hotel: NYC Help - 10/21-10/28

Hi,

I need a room for the 21-28 week, but all my biddings so far have failed.

Any suggestions on how to find a reasonable hotel in NYC for less than $200 a nite?

I think I'll go with anything with clean sheets and working plumbing...

3.5* 3*

21 - $265 185

22 - $356 294

23 - $177 132

24 - $277 200

It may or may not help, i haven't looked at all the dates invididually yet.

How many times are you willing to change hotels?

I assume this is a trip you will be taking no matter what? (so if you have success for only part of your stay that'll be 'ok' for now... it's not as if you'd want to cancel the trip but now not be able to do so since you have a few hotel nites committed) If you are unsuccessful for some nites, what is your back plan?

I'm already committed to these dates.

I guess changing once or at most twice may be considered OK.

... and do you have any fallback?

Would you likely increase your bid amount or lower your star rating if unsuccessful at your current limit? (as you'll almost certainly need to do at least one for some of your dates)

Of course, I'm taking the risk that I will have to increase the bid (for at least part of the stay) or - if the increase is unreasonable - go down in star rating (2.5* isn't that bad, is it?).

The nite of 10/23 shouldn't be any problem as Sunday nites are usually slow in NYC... for 10/24-10/28 Hotwire has a 3* for $258/nite but not sure if you're willing to go up that high. The nites of 10/21-10/23 will need to go much higher.

You could consider:

10/21-10/23 = raise bid or lower star quality

10/23 = Priceline or Hotwire (should be within your budget... we'll suggest a strategy)

10/24-10/28 = Windsor hote thru Quikbook... reviews are not the best, but if all you really need are 'basic' accomodations it is within your budget)

I started by bidding for 21-23. So far $210 wasn't enough for _2*_.

$250 for 3* also failed.

$265 for 2* failed!

$275 - success (Best Western President Hotel)

I hope that for the rest of the week I'll get something _much_ cheaper
