kittybean Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Hi, I am new here :)Clicked the HOTWIRE link above and got the following offer:4.5* New York, Midtown EastSecret hot Rate $434, original price $1268, saving $834Dates: Dec 7, 2013 (one night)85% recommendedStylish hotel ready with business servicesInternet Access, Fitness Center, Business CenterClick on the link and it says fitness center, business center, and internet accessAccessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessibleThe New York Palace seems to be the only 4.5* in this price range, but I went to the New York Palace page on Hotwire to see the regular booking price and it says $1995 a night. Can anyone help identify this hotel? Thanks.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! The retail rate is not the price for the specific hotel offered, but an average rate of hotels of that star rating in the zone... therefore you can't use this information to gain any insight as to the hotel being offered.A property with this exact amenity set has not yet been reported to the board and with only three amenities showing i don't have any insight as to which one it may be... it could be one of 4.5* hotels already reported to the board but with a new amenity set, a previously reported hotel upgraded/downgraded, or a new property recently added to the HOTWIRE system. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know hat you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. kittybean Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 Anyone else have any insight? Deal remains the same and it is also not showing "restaurant" in the amenities which every other 4.5* in this zone shows. Is this a good indication it's the palace? I really want to book this but if it's not the palace I have a better deal waiting vs what I could get going the hotwire route. I think it's either the Palace or the Benjamin? Definitely don't want the latter.
kittybean Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 Here is a photo of what I see when I search from the boards. They just added a $449 deal in the same area but that one says pet friendly and spa. Does anyone agree this is the palace?
thereuare Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Please do not post screenshots to the board. Please list the amenities associated with this property, and note that to see them all, you need to:1) click the offer from the search results2) click BOOK NOW3) in the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... or you can simply use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab at BiddingHelper.com Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
kittybean Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 Never mind. I kind of give up at this point because someone just posted all the exact same amenities I posted up top and got a response with a guess, just for different dates. I was told that the amenities are new or not yet reported...? To make it more clear I posted a screen shot to help you help me, and I didn't see anywhere I wasn't allowed to do that. I read a post that says to post ANYTHING to "help you help us" -- instead I get a response asking me to do something I already did. $550 is a lot of money to spend blindly. I was just looking for some insight or another opinion.Just an FYI, I was showing the mobile view of the Hotwire site which shows laundry in the icons as well. The regular website view does not show this. I just want to make sure I wouldn't get stuck with the Waldorf or Benjamin because I consider the palace to be superior to both of these. Waldorf should not be a 4.5 star hotel.
