jra Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I'm debating which hotel to choose on Hotwire (after getting shot down from Priceline repeatedly), so I'm looking at both 4* and 3*. jra Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 I'm a little disappointed since this wasn't one of the ones that is already on the Priceline List on this site. I totally understand that Priceline adds properties and it happens. It seems like a nice hotel, just further from the Riverwalk than all the other 4*s on the list and not my exactly style. The description of the hotel itself does seem nice though. Thanks for your help. This is a great board!J
jra Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks for your help! I decided to try one more time on PRICELINE since their fees seem a bit lower than HOTWIRE. I won a 4* (new to add to the 4* Riverwalk list) and posted it on the Priceline board. Thanks again!J
jra Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 Oops - the title should be: 4* San Antonio Riverwalk Fairmount Hotel
thereuare Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Sorry that you were surprised with this outcome, but hopefully you're pleased with the result for the price paid and you'll be able to make this work for your needs. The hotel's website does state that they are adjacent to La Villita, two blocks from the Alamo, and 'steps' from the Riverwalk.Thank you for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding and sharing your win, helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List. jra Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 Have you guys seen Priceline list a hotel as a 4* when the hotel itself lists itself as a 3* hotel? I just went to the Fairmount website to check out the details since we're checking in on Friday, and it specifically calls itself a 3* hotel (under "Hotel Quick Facts, Hotel Information." Curious as to what you think of that. I waited too long to really do anything about it since we leave in 2 days, I suppose. But, was wondering if this is something I should call Priceline about. I feel like if I paid for a 4* hotel on their site, then I should get a 4* hotel. Thanks for any feedback/advice!
AaronJB Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 PRICELINE and HOTWIRE will sometimes have different ratings than other websites and it's not unusual to see a property with a few different ratings if you look across multiple websites. You can try contacting PRICELINE and seeing what they say.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
