noso Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Hello! I'm hoping for some bidding advice for NYC for Oct 12-14th. Looking for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 star. Anywhere in Manhattan would be ideal. I'll be getting two rooms and will be having 4 people sleeping ideally not in the same beds, I'm praying i could switch over to a room with two beds but am prepared to share if necessary. Please shed some light, Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! This Saturday nite is quite expensive... what is your budget per nite (before taxes/fees) at each star level? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip?Lastly, to avoid any confusion, please list the zones you are willing to accept by PRICELINE name.Let us know the info above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. noso Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks for the reply. I got a cancellable (till tomm) Marriot (4*) east side reservation with lastminutetravel.com for ~258. I've spent many hours on priceline doing many bids and rebids - most recently (before my Marriot res) I had the following $260 (pre-fees) bid rejected4* CPS, Chelsea, ESB, Hell's, MSG, MTE, MTW, SoHo, TS. Ideally I'd be in SoHo (near friend's hotel): either in a 3.5* paying up to 225, or in a 4* at up to 272. If this seems unlikely, I'd be happy enough with the Marriot. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Few options...If you're flexible on zone PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in the Downtown zone for $239/nite (Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center) and using the discount code linked in my signature gives you an extra 5% OFF bringing your cost down to $227/nite.Alternately HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the ESB zone for $263/nite which appears to meet your parameters above and shows:Free Internet Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess here would be the St Giles The Court.Either of these work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. noso Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 I'd prefer not to be that far downtown. For now I'll stick with what I have. I'll check HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS deals again later to see if something comes up and I'll be sure to use you link if I buy. For now, what I have is cheaper than likely St. Giles The Court HOTWIRE.Thanks!
