xyberviper Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Hey all,I am looking for 3 nights at a 3* hotel in the downtown denver area from 10/01 - 10/04. I Dont want to spend more than 175 or so for the room. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
AaronJB Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Just to confirm, is your desired budget $175 per night or for the entire stay? If for the entire stay, are you looking for $175 "all-in" (including taxes/fees) or $175 + taxes/fees?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
xyberviper Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 Hey Sorry bout that. looking 175 All In.. I figure ill probably have to drop down a star or so but whatever the best I can get for 175ish out the door is what im lookin for

xyberviper Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 I have clicked the links and know the drill. You guys have been very helpful in the past ;)
thereuare Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 At current rates I think your budget is going to be tough for a 3* hotel as $175 all-in is only about a $49/nite bid price. If you want to give it a try, when bidding 3* in Denver you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Downtown...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $46, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $49Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. xyberviper Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 Well I led off with 49 and was denied but offered to bump up 20$ to 70 a night id 'win'.With that being said:Does this mean that 70 will be the absolute least i would need to do to get a 3* or could the rebid potentially work to get somewhere in the 55-65$ a night range?and my second question: would using Expedia make a difference?
AaronJB Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Expedia offers a regular rate side and a discount side. The discount side is HOTWIRE, so you may as well go to HOTWIRE (that said, HOTWIRE is going to be more expensive than PRICELINE bidding.)A bidding "counter-offer" is not what is required for a win - what is actually required is likely somewhere in-between your last failed bid and the counter-offer. I'd suggest heading higher by $4-5 at a time.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
xyberviper Posted October 1, 2013 Author Report Posted October 1, 2013 I was a little surprised as the only 2* hotel listed for downtown denver was Hotel VQ which i was interested in, I am pleased with the Quality Inn as it met my price needs and had the amenities I was looking for. Thank you for helping me with my 2nd win in just this past month :)
thereuare Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 Congratulations on your success! While not the hotel you were expecting, glad to hear it works well for your needs and hopefully you're already checked-in and have started to enjoy your stay.Thank you for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board and for sharing your win, helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.Enjoy the rest of your stay.
