Hi There!

I'm looking for some help with generating a successful bidding strategy for NYC from Oct 18-21.

Our preferred star rating is a 3.5 or 4* hotel. Trying to stay in the MTW or Times Sq - Theater District areas.

Ideal max budget after bidding is around $250. Do you think that is a reasonable price during this time of year?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages and clicking each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links... then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your post above.

Also, please clarify... is your maximum budget $250 per nite bid price or is that after fees/taxes? Also, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip?

Please use bid prices and rates before taxes and fees as it makes it easier for us to research and evaluate if a hotel is within your budget or not.

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the MTC zone for $212/nite (room rate) with:

Pet Friendly

Boutique

Fitness

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

... this could be a few different properties but my guess would The Shoreham hotel.

If you're willing to consider other centrally located hotels PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in the MTE zone (Restaurant, Business) for $193/nite which i'm guessing is the Roosevelt.

Are either of the above of interest OR do you want to try bidding for any 4* hotel (or better) hotel in the MTW and TS zone?

Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.

I'd like to continue to try bidding...

So we don't duplicate any of your previous efforts, have you done any bidding for this stay already? If so, how high have you bid in each of these zones at the 4* level?

If MTE is acceptable PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in this zone (Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center) for $175/nite.. and the link in my signature can get you an additional 5% OFF bringing the cost for this room down to $167/nite.

Alternately there is a 3.5* in the MTW zone (Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center) for $209/nite, using the signature link brings this down to $199/nite, less than you have already bid (assuming your $200 bid above were at the 3.5* level)... there is also a 4* in the MTW zone (Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center) for $219/nite after discount.

Do any of these work for you?
