reich Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I just got my room 2 days ago for the Venetian on priceline for 10/12-10/15. Hotwire was asking $155 per night for 5* which matched your hints board for the Venetian. I started my bidding ridiculously low at $100/night and received a reply stating I could get the room for $136 per night if I agreed to the price. Instead I crept up to $110 and got the same message for $136. I then bid $120 and did not get that message. I then bid $125 and got the room.Congratulations, you got your price of $125 for a 5-star hotel roomThe Venetian Check-In Date: Wednesday, October 12, 2005 Check-Out Date: Saturday, October 15, 2005 Las Vegas Strip Vicinity(Priceline Zone)3355 Las Vegas Boulevard Your Offer Price: $125.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $375.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $49.62 Total Charges: $424.62 One thing that made me mad was after I got the bid on the acceptance page I was offered a rental car Mid-size for $14 per day. I clicked the link and it said your bid was not accepted. The offer THEY made was not accepted. I called priceline and they would not honor the request and told me to try a higher bid. When I tried to do so I was locked out because of the $14 bid when I tried to take their offer. Anyone else had this happen?
thereuare Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! It is possible that there was one $14 car available when priceline made that offer to you and by the time you clicked the "purchase" button somebody else had purchased it (thru their own "name your own price" car rental bid)Thank you for sharing your win and enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
