KevM777 Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Bid $90 for this area and other with higher star hotels, failed. Added Fisherman's wharf area (one star only available) and $101 and got the bid. Online you can get it for $114 so mediocre deal. Plus this Crowne I know find has had a lot of bad reviews. Priceline's 3.5 seems to be based on the chain rep. not that particular hotel. Advice to bidders, treat Priceline's rating with skepticism, generally they are accurate but its been my experience winning bids often go to chains with good reps. but the actual hotel may be below the chain's usual standard. Anyone else have this feeling?
thereuare Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Thank you for sharing your win with the board.Sorry if you're disappointed with the results. The star rating(s) assigned by PRICELINE are based upon the individual hotel, which is why we often see hotels of the same chain/brand rated different from one city to the next. If you use the board's Priceline and Hotwire Hotel Lists you can see the last known rating for all hotels that have been reported to the board, which may help you evaluate which star levels to choose for your bidding in the future....its been my experience...Assuming this isn't your first PRICELINE or HOTWIRE purchase in the least year since joining the board, please begin to share your win with the board so that others can benefit from the information. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
