x4x4x4x Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Hi! As my trip is close to less than a week, I like to ask some help.I added Chicago on my trip at last minute, I need a hotel on Oct.1st. I am not a tourist so the hotel doesn't have to be on the main stream, however I want a nice hotel that I can relax and have great food nearby. Can you give me some suggestions on bidding zones? I have tried North Michigan Avenue *4 and up for $152 and rejected. Is there any free zone that I can add when I rebid? Appreciate for all your help : )+forgot to mention, I used the PRICELINE link from BB
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 You can see a discussion of re-bidding and how to ID re-bid zones in this thread: re-bidding. If you have additional questions regarding zones/need help confirming, please ask before bidding. You need to re-confirm re-bidding zones each time you start bidding. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 When bidding 4* in Chicago you have FIVE re-bid zones (feel free to confirm them with the board or ask questions if you don't follow the information in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)PRICELINE EXPRESS does have a 4* hotel in the NMA-River North zone for $166/nite (Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Business) and a property has an 8.0/10.0 or better user review, so should at least be decent. The amenities are very common for this area so it's hard to have too much confident in any guess, but one possible candidate would be the Hotel Sax.Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
x4x4x4x Posted October 1, 2013 Author Report Posted October 1, 2013 I booked yesterday, (a day before the trip) through Hotwire.I raised my bid up to $240 for four stars but no luck with priceline. I got The Langham Chicago for $231. :)Will post this win on Hotwire forum as well. Thanks for all your help!!
x4x4x4x Posted October 1, 2013 Author Report Posted October 1, 2013 Since I plan this trip a week ahead of travel date, and I had a back up plan for staying (my friend's apartment)I waited until the last minutes to book the hotel. I was on both Hotwire and Priceline for about a week, and finally got The Langham @$231. I think it was really nice deal compare to other 4* hotels were around $240.Amenities were-Indoor pool(s)-Fitness Center-Pool(s)-Restaurant(s)-High-Speed Internet Access -Spa ServicesI'm always using the links from BB when I search and book hotels :)
