cbrown6305 Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 $151 - 2 guests, 1 room; 11/17-11/19/2013Amenities listed:Free InternetBoutique HotelIndoor pool(s)Pool(s)Business CenterSpa ServicesAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessible---I'm thinking its either the Room Mate Grace or Hotel Manhattan. Makes a big difference considering these hotels appear to be nothing alike. Help is much appreciated.
yellowdog Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding :) I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Can you please run a new search through bord's BiddingHelper.com on top of the page. Please copy and paste the amenities and price you'll see in the Easy View tab and we'll have a look at this. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog.
cbrown6305 Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 On BiddingHelper.com it appears at a slightly lower price of $150. thereuare Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 A new amenity set for the Room Mate Grace would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. cbrown6305 Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 In your opinion, is this a good price for the Room Mate Grace Hotel? I am thinking that I will either book now, or wait until last minute and try booking though Priceline's bidding platform. I have had success with last minute bidding in the past.
AaronJB Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 This is not a slow period in NYC and there have been less instances of prices improving in the last minute. There is no way to know if rate/s will come down closer to your stay, but it is a definite risk that they could stay the same or go higher for a period like this.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cbrown6305 Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 Thanks All.Before settling on the 3.5* with HOTWIRE, I tried bidding a few more times with PRICELINE. I ended up landing the Intercontinental Times Square for $170/night (this is a 4.5* hotel). The best part is, because Hotwire's fees seem to be higher, the total for the Intercontinental actually came out to only $14 more than the supposed Room Mate Grace (Intercontinental was $417 for two nights after fees, HOTWIRE deal was $403). Really happy with my purchase. Thanks again for all your help.
