Littlestonedrose Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Hi All this is my first time using Hotwire and also my first time looking to travel to Chicago. We are there for 4 nights from October 18th to October 22nd. I am looking for advice as to the best location to stay in; thus far it seems to be Magnificant Mile River North. We are planning on doing a bit of shopping, and generally looking for good food and restaurants. Thanks in advance.Tommy
AaronJB Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 In terms of HOTWIRE (PRICELINE breaks up the zone/s differently):North of the River:Mag Mile-River North. The bottom half of the North Michigan Ave. shopping area, as well as the Navy Pier area and restaurant-heavy River North area.Mag Mile N-Water Tower - The top half of the NMA area. Gold Coast-Lake Shore Drive - The Gold Coast area (a smaller, nightlife and restaurant area a couple of minutes walk N of the top end of the NMA area.) and the very top of the NMA area. It's a bit of a walk, but it's a pretty nice walk from this area to the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Old Town area.South of the River:Chicago Loop-Theater District and Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park. Both areas make up the Loop area. This area is closer to museums, but there is less going on at night, especially in some parts of the area (West and South). The areas to the North of the river have more going on at night. Are you seeing a listing of interest? If so, please provide the full details of the listing (date/s of travel, price per night before taxes/fees, zone, star rating, full list of amenities) and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listing.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Littlestonedrose Posted September 24, 2013 Author Report Posted September 24, 2013 Thanks for the responses guys. The hotel I have seen that stands out for price and location is Boutique hotel, smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, high speed internet access. It is in Mag Mile River North and priced at $140 per night. The major reservation is that customer satisfaction rates the hotel a 75%, with only 3.5 for comfort. Do you have any idea of the hotel and if so would you recommend it for location more so than anything else as we would like to spend more time exploring than anything else. Thanks again.Tommy
AaronJB Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 If you go to BiddingHelper.com and search for your date/s, then click "Hotwire Easy View", do you see for the 4* Mag Mile-RN:Boutique Hotel,Smoke Free Rooms,Fitness CenterRestaurant(s),Business Center,High-Speed Internet Access,Accessible for the blindAccessible path of travel,In-room accessibility,Accessible bathroom,Roll-in showerI'm not seeing the same HOTWIRE customer % rating or a tripadvisor rating; my guess would be the Sax, Felix or Palomar.I'm also seeing a 4* in the Gold Coast area for $150 w/ a 4/5 tripadvisor rating on the detail page (you may see a slightly different price) w/: Boutique Hotel,Fitness Center,High-Speed Internet Access,In-room accessibility,Accessible bathroom,Roll-in shower . This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess the Raffaello would be a possibility.Let us know if you have any questions before booking.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
