hawaiirun Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 I was planning on using Priceline for this upcoming trip (Times Square Area, max $275 for a 3.5 - 4*) BUT we are 4 adults travelling together and 1 bed in the room will not do:) Having been in Boston at the end of August, I booked that room on Priceline, emailed the hotel my bed preference (we were 3 adults), when we checked in all they had left was a double bed, it was pretty tight quarters, and with this upcoming trip we will be 4 in the room. I see the Sheraton has a rate of $299 for 2 double beds, is that my best chance, just book direct with the hotel? Can they even guarantee me 2 doubles when we check in? Any thought would be appreciated.
AaronJB Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy. One can ask for two beds via written request or at check-in (or calling), but chances are success in some cities (Orlando) are much better than others (Boston and, in particular, NYC.) With NYC's small rooms, two beds - when available - is usually a paid upgrade. HOTWIRE is a better choice in this case as you can indicate four people in the room and that should result in some form of bedding for the whole party - 2 beds, 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. Some PRICELINE Express listings offer a bed choice, but I believe this is a request and not a guarantee.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
