4* NYC upper west he Empire Hotel(400$) - 11.27~11.30 Strategy?

When is a good time to bidding? Will the price change later?

What is the possible lowest price ?

I want to spend less than 200$per night including tax.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

Are you willing to accept other hotel(s) or is the The Empire Hotel the only property you're willing to accept?

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

No it's not the only one I accept. I specifically targeted on it cuz I think it is the only 4*hotel in upper west side. And it's whole price for that time is 400$

other 4* hotel in upper east side would work too.

I believe NYLO is also 4* in this area, there may be others not yet reported to the board. I wouldn't particularly recommend this area, as it's not terribly central. While it's pretty easy to get around NYC, the weather at the end of November may make that trek brisk.

Additionally, this is one of the busiest periods of the year, as it's within the core period of holiday shopping and festivities.

Is USW the only acceptable area? I think you may actually get a more reasonable rate in some other areas, such as Midtown East or Empire State Building.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I chose this place because I have specific preference. Upper east side will works too. However, I dont have a lot of time to stay there, and my friends lives in upper east side, so I dont want to spend much time on traveling.

I just want to know what is the best time for biding this, and whether its going to change to a lower price later.

What is the possible lowest price ?

If your friends live on the UES i'm not so sure that UWS would be the best option for you as depending upon the specific location you are located in on the UWS, and specific location where you need to meet your friends on the UES, Central Park is not the easiest or quickest place to cut across (unless you are willing to pay for taxis each way which will add to your costs)

Do you know exactly where you need to be on the UES as many zones long the East side may work just as well (if not better) as you can inexpensively take the 4-5-6 trains (depending where you need to be on the UES) north/south which would be easier then east/west via subway in this instance.

I just want to know what is the best time for biding this, and whether its going to change to a lower price later.
Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay. for a further discussion on this subject see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

We can't say what the lowest price would be, but can suggest a strategy for you to follow which will bid systematically to help ensure you get as closes to the 'right price' as possible. However, at the moment, i don't think a bid price of $165 (which is what will equate to your $200 all-in price above) is realistic for a 4* hotel in the UWS... currently i think this will require closer to $225-$250 bid price... if you're willing to consider MTE a 4* there may run you closer to $200-$225 bid price.
