Hello!

Since I had such wonderful assistance from this board for my NYC hotel search this summer, I thought I'd see if anyone could help me with a bidding strategy for South Beach, Miami (any of the 3 South Beach zones)? Going for three nights from Friday October 11 - Monday, October 14. Looking for 3.5* or 4*. Hoping to stay under $200/night after taxes and all fees.

Would prefer to be in South Beach Central or Ocean Drive, but Collins Avenue Oceanfront is good too!

I will of course use links on this site for my bidding.

Thanks!

Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? What is your maximum bid price?

I am willing to pay more for a 4*. max bid would be 200/night after all taxes and fees. However after researching on the internet, it seems like people are getting rooms in 4* for bids of 100-140, so ideally around 150-180 after taxes and fees would be ideal for a 4*.

I don't know if Collins zone is the most expensive, but it seems like the biggest/most stretched out zone, and we could end up pretty far north and away from the action in SoBe if we stay in that zone. But I don't mind if the price is right.

Also, i clicked the links, thanks!

Rates are date specific so you can't necessarily expect to win at the same price as other users when those dates are different then your own.

What is 'the right price' that would make the location risk of Central South Beach worthwhile?

What do you want to try first:

4* hotel up to your limit (how much?? based upon your last post) for only Oceanfront Collins and Ocean Drive

4* hotel up to (how much?? based upon your answer to the question above) any of your three acceptable zones

Also, please post your budget in bid price per nite before any fees/taxes.

Thanks.
