Goalie Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 I have been trying for a week or so even though it is still pretty far out but I wanted to book so that I could do some other planning.Used free rebids and was never successful up to $130.00. Went up to $135.00 and hit on the Dana. Cheapest rate on their site is $248.00 a night. With taxes it is a savings of $412.26.Used the PRICELINE links on this site to bid.
AaronJB Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Congrats on your success. :)Great win for this property! Hope you are looking forward to your stay. There's a ton of restaurant options nearby in the River North area - let us know if you have any city questions.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
Goalie Posted September 21, 2013 Author Report Posted September 21, 2013 What is the best non chain Mexican restaurant in the area and is there a good diner for breakfast close by? Looking for good food that is not too expensive. Thanks for the offer of local recommendations.
AaronJB Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 Legendary chef Rick Bayless has his famed three Mexican restaurants nearby - Frontera and the higher-end Topolobampo, as well as the casual Xoco. Xoco is a great option that's more reasonable and quick. Mercadito (http://www.mercaditorestaurants.com/) is also a short walk S/SW. Cantina Laredo (http://www.cantinalaredo.com/) is also a short walk. Frontera and Topolobampo are busy and I would call ahead to see if you could make reservations if you are going at a busier time.West Egg Cafe is not too far of a walk East, while if you're in the mood for a stroll up to the Gold Coast area, the Original Pancake House is reasonable.Let us know if you have any other questions.
Goalie Posted September 23, 2013 Author Report Posted September 23, 2013 Thanks for the information, much appreciated.
AaronJB Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Happy to help - I'll also note that there's a nice Whole Foods a block North (snacks/drinks to take back to the hotel or around during the day.)Enjoy your stay.
