tlchogan Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 New to Hotwire, and have been watching it for a couple of weeks. I am looking for a room for one night (12/18/13)...we will be seeing two shows, Rockefeller Center, etc., so I have been focused on Times Square and mid-town central areas. In the past (always the same week) we have stayed at the Crowne Plaza, NY Hilton, Westin, and Sheraton, just to give you some background, although prices seem to be higher this year. My concern is the bedding--traveling with my adult daughter. I've been told Hotwire can be tricky if you need two beds.I see a 4.5* in Times Square (pet friendly, fitness center, restaurant, business center, high-speed internet, accessible) for $227, which is about the top that I would want to pay. Do you think this is the Intercontinental? If so, would you recommend this? Others to consider?

AaronJB Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 Please use BiddingHelper.com, search for your date and click "Hotwire Easy View", then list the full set of amenities and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listing. In terms of HOTWIRE, if you are searching for 2 adults, you are only guaranteed one bed. NYC is particularly high risk when it comes to the discount services and not getting two beds. You can ask the hotel and they may say yes, but it's a definite risk they can say no. The other option is to search for 2 adults and 1 child (even if there isn't a child), but that may result in more expensive options. Searching for more than 2 should result in some form of bedding for the entire party - that may mean 2 beds or 1 + sofa or 1 + rollaway.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 I will also add that PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in the MTE zone (Pets Allowed, Business Center, Fitness Center)... it's priced at $164/nite but you can book as 2 Standard beds for $198/nite.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
