amalenk Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 Hi, we want to stay in London for 4 nights from Oct 6th to Oct 10th. We have two 1 year old baby twins, that can sleep in one or ideally two cradles.I know that Priceline only guarantees a room for two adults. I would like to know your opinion or users opinion about staying in a 5* hotel in Mayfair Soho. All 5* winning hotels that I see in this zone seem big, but is it a smart idea? What do you think? Thanks!

amalenk Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 Hi, yes I will buy through that links. But I have not done any bid yet. I have just clicked both links.Regards
thereuare Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 It is generally considered very risky to use PRICELINE for more than double occupancy in Europe (as well as many large US cities where rooms are notoriously small) as many European rooms are too small to even accommodate one crib, let alone two.You could choose to take the risk and use PRICELINE, but my suggestion would be to use HOTWIRE for this stay... first search for 2adults/2children and then also searching for 2adults/0children. If the same hotel(s) appear on each search and the price difference is negligible, then make the 'peace of mind' purchase of 2adults/2children. If when searching 2a/2c no hotels appear within your desired star rating and zone, or the price difference it very large, then make the purchase using 2adults/0children, as the HOTWIRE search form asks for the number of adults (age 18+) and the number of children (age 2-17)... so buy purchasing 2adults/0children you are searching as per HOTWIRE's defined parameters. Once the name of the hotel purchased appears, i'd call/email the hotel to ensure that they can accommodate two babies in the room. If not, you can then call HOTWIRE to try and work something out (i'm assuming worst case scenario is getting the reservation refunded) since you did search for occupancy within their age limit parameters... the same situation with PRICELINE could result in no refund since they stipulate only double occupancy and you are indeed more than that.Regardless of how you decide to proceed, i would confirm that the room you will receive will accommodate your family before you arrive so that any problems can get resolved before your arrival, and you're not stuck in a hotel lobby with a hotel that won't budge and trying to resolve the issue with an overseas phone call. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
