AaronJB Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 My guess would be the Whitehall. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Additionally, if you are coming in from O'Hare, you could consider a taxi - it's not that far a taxi ride to most downtown hotels from a Blue Line stop once you get in the downtown area.Lastly, I'll note that what appears to be the Hotel Lincoln is showing for $106. This is definitely a bit of a trek North of the downtown area, but it's right by the Zoo, it's a nice neighborhood and there's a fair amount of public transit to downtown (it's also a pretty - if long-ish - walk to the Michigan Ave shopping area.) This option certainly is NOT as convenient as staying downtown, but it's a very nice area and a decent savings over comparable downtown hotels.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
valval10 Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 It seems there is a less than enthusiastic feeling about the Whitehall. I will be coming from Midway. I will look into the Lincoln area you suggested, thank you.I picked the area of Mag Mile as it seemed to have many hotels close to transportation as I am planning on the Field Museum, Adler, Shedd & a Bears game. I was also concerned that some of the other areas didn't have too many choices for eating. My budget, well I like to always feel I am getting a good deal. I probably don't want to go over $175. Thanks again!
AaronJB Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 If you do want to go further than your desired budget, I do see the 5* Langham for $219. Let us know if that would be of interest and we would be happy to point it out on HOTWIRE (although interestingly, I see what appears to be the Langham for $200 when searching for 10/6-9 and 10/9-11 separately.)I also see what appears to be the Sax for $148.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
valval10 Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 Is this the Langham? Magnificent Mile Area - River North Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services
AaronJB Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 A 5 in the Mag Mile-RN area with those amenities would be a likely match for the Langham.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
valval10 Posted September 17, 2013 Author Report Posted September 17, 2013 Yes I still have not booked a hotel yet. The 4* has not changed amenities since I first posted, until now!4* Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in showerThanks!
thereuare Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Unfortunately we have not yet seen a 4* hotel reported to the board with this amenity set... the Allerton Hotel on Magnificent Mile would be a guess, but i'm far from certain.Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this trip or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 I'd agree the 4* MM-WT would be a possible match for the Allerton. Are you looking for something in particular in terms of hotel?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
