AaronJB Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding.The messages are not an indicator that the listing you are looking at is the same hotel the prior person won.If you search for your date/s with BiddingHelper.com, then click on "Hotwire Easy View", do you see more amenities than you've noted above? Shaun_L Posted September 10, 2013 Author Report Posted September 10, 2013 Strangely enough, it is not even listed when viewing Hotwire via Easy View in Bidding Helper.I did look at some other weeks around my vacation dates, and discovered that there is another property with a 95% and an indentical amenity set. I am fairly certain that one is not Wynn because Suite is not listed as an amenity while golf Nearby is listed. Is it safe to assume that that one is the Palazzo, while the one I am looking at with 90% is Venetian?

I also notice that if you search for 2adults/1 child rather than 2adults, you receive a property with the same amenity set as above but at $98 and 90% recommended. Is there any downside to booking as if you have a child in tow? Thanks again!
thereuare Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 If you hover over the 'IMPORTANT INFO HERE' link in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab at BiddingHelper.com you'll see that it's "known" that only one 5* hotel will be shown in the BiddingHelper.com vs. two 5* hotels that are often shown in the Strip North and Strip South zones when viewing i the 'Hotwire' tab.To see the full list of amenities for any given property when on the HOTWIRE site you need to click the offer from the search results, then on the top left of the ensuing page click the 'See all amenities' link. I would use this method to confirm that both of the properties you're seeing do indeed have the same amenities, as the first 9 may be the same but then subtle differences after that.Also, the 'percent recommended' shown by HOTWIRE is not a reliable indicator to use when trying to identify properties as we have seen this value change from one percentage to another, for the same hotel, from one search to the next (as well as revert to "still gathering reviews")If you'd like help trying to identify the hotel(s) you're currently seeing please include the full list of amenities using the 'See all amenities' link method mentioned above (but i'll also add that HOTWIRE is trying out a new interface for some users and there is a chance that even with this method that you won't see the complete set of amenities)Lastly, there is no issue in booking a room for 2adults/1child and then not showing up with any children... the clerk may ask if you have a child with you, but only for determining if you need bidding for a third person, and if you are asked (highly unlikely that you will, imo) just tell them that a relative agreed to watch 'junior' (or that junior changed his/her mind).Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. I still have a hunch that this is the Venetian based on the guest score and TripAdvisor ratings, but as thereuare mentioned, those are not exactly reliable clues.

Shaun_L Posted September 10, 2013 Author Report Posted September 10, 2013 The price dropped and I went ahead and booked this deal. It was indeed the Venetian and I scored it for $94 a night. Total for 5 nights with tax and fees was $552. It was not the Palazzo as I had hoped, but I think the rooms will still be decent. I will try the $20 (or $50) dollar trick when I arrive to see if they will move me to Palazzo. Thank you for everyone's help!
