Hi.

I am looking for bidding assistance for a London trip 26/9 - 27/9 for two rooms. i would prefer to stay in IMayfair/Soho Bloomsbury or westminster in that order 4/5 star.

Iv been trying for about 6 weeks.starting from $115 upto $140. Iv had no Counteroffers . Are my bids being rejected because I'm bidding on two rooms?

I even put a bid in for $115 for a three star in Mayfair today but that to got rejected.

Iv been thinking about adding kensington to my zones.

I'm not going for sightseeing I'm just wanting to shop on Oxford street. So would like to be close to there .

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Unless your date/s are extremely busy, two rooms should not be an issue.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Those zones can be very expensive lately, which is why I've been (happily) staying at Regent's Park (the Bakerloo line from Marriott Maida Vale goes right to Oxford Circus (7 stops no changes) and the Jubilee line from Marriot Regent's Park gets very close, too (3 stops to Bond Street)). If you look at Express Deals it can give you an idea of how much the rooms might be -- NYOP is typically ~$10-ish (give or take) less tha PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals per night. Oxford Street is also very easy to get to from Notting Hill, just hop the Central Line tube. You can see if the savings from those zones is worth the tube ride.

I'm hesitant about Kensington only because they upgraded the Copthorne Tara to 4* and it doesn't deserve it! The Regent's Park hotels that they have typically been using have been great. Regent's Park and Notting Hill would also be slightly easier to get to Oxford Street by tube because in Kensington you would need to change trains to get to Oxford Street.

At current rates I'm guessing you're likely looking at the following price ranges:

4* Mayfair $190-$210

4* Westminster $180-$200

4* Bloomsbury $145-$165

A 4* hotel in the Kensington zone will be cheaper then the above, likely in the $100-$120 area.

What would you like to try for first/next... bid a little higher in hopes of somethign in the Bloomsbury zone OR take the less expensive Kensington zone hotel?

Do you need help with a bidding strategy or do you have a gameplan in mind?

If you'd like us to suggest a bidding strategy, are the other zones you previously were bidding still acceptable as well? What is your new maximum bid?

If you aren't familiar with it, the "Oyster Card" is a great deal. You can use it on various public transportation. It saves a little money and is more convenient than single purchase tickets.
