moneysaver82 Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Hi.I am seeking bidding assistance for a London trip 10/5 - 10/12. I prefer to stay in Westminster, Mayfair/Soho, or Bloomsbury. In that order. 3* for less than $100 (USD). I would prefer 4* or 5* but the absolute max for those would be $130. Please help me with suggestions on how to bid. Everything I enter on Priceline gets rejected. Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!I prefer to stay in Westminster, Mayfair/Soho, or Bloomsbury. In that order. Are you willing to pay more to stay in the Westminster zone vs. the Mayfair/Soho zone vs. the Bloomsbury zone... or is the goal the least expensive hotel at your minimum star level in any of these zones? 3* for less than $100 (USD). I would prefer 4* or 5* but the absolute max for those would be $130.I have not yet looked at rates for your dates, but did you first want to try for a 4*/5* up to your $130 limit, then if rejected try for a 3* up to $100?Everything I enter on Priceline gets rejected. So we don't duplicate your previous efforts, what bids/zones/star ratings have you already tried which have been rejected? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. vanpoodle Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 London can be tricky and you have picked the three most expensive zones -- over the past year the best deal has been for 4* In Regent's Park, where a Marriott was won for $78 - $100 during the time you're in London. Worth considering as a backup if deals don't come through for your preferred areas. Both hotels that PRICELINE has been using there for the past year are very close to the tube and are only a couple stops from Westminster. I have stayed at both and have been very happy and was well worth the savings to be still fairly close in.Also, with a longer stay that you have, you could consider splitting it into 2 stays if you don't mind moving hotels, sometimes that helps to get a better price. You can also take a look at PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals to get an idea of what might be available during your date and see if you're better in one zone for part of it then moving to another zone. From experience, NYOP comes in at $10-ish a night less tha PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals.
