$20 trick ??

Brand new here, and I have been just wandering around looking at tips, strategies, etc...

A couple of times I see posters saying they are going to try $20 trick???

So I did a search, gave me several (9) posts to scan, which I did, but can't find what the $20 trick is??

Please excuse this question, I know it's probably something you all know, but I want to know too !

$20 trick is when you tuck a $20 bill between your id and CC while asking if there are any complimentary upgraded rooms available

I tried the $20 trick with $10 at the Hyatt in San Francisco and it worked well. Landed on the 17th floor with a nice view of the bay and the skating rink below.

I also made sure to check in late (around 9 pm) and ask politely. :D
