I need to check in on 09/11 and check out on 09/14 in NYC and prices seem to be sky high. Could anyone help with bidding strategy? I need to find 2*+ hotel in following region - Central Park South, Hell's Kitchen, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area, Midtown West, Times Square - Theatre District, Upper West Side. So far the best Express Deal I have found is at Central Park South 2.5* at $197.

Thank you for your help.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher then you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for this trip?

Also, note the discount link code my in signature gives you an additional 10% OFF of PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels that are rated 3* and higher... so THIS 3 STAR CHELSEA HOTEL at $211 (double check the dates and other details if you use this previous link), less 10%, would actually be cheaper (and higher rated) then the 2.5* hotel above at $197/nite... assuming that the Chelsea zone is also an acceptable zone for you. We often advise caution with the lower rated hotels in NYC as quality can differ substantially from one property to the next (even at the same star rating)... you may find a diamond in the rough that meets your needs perfectly, or you could get something for which you wish you spent a little more for something nicer.

Let us know your thoughts and maximum bid, and how you'd like to proceed (confirm the zones if you're willing to add others such as Chelsea) and we'll take it from there.

Thank you for your reply! I was hoping to stay around $160/night for maximum bid but not sure if that would be unrealistic in the zones I mentioned. I think I can consider Chelsea. I need to visit Upper West during the day times so as long as I can get there within 10-15 minutes by Subway I am fine.

Thanks

OK, so *I think* I got a great deal for *one leg*. I split up my trip and bid from Sep 12 to Sep 14 and got express deal on a 3.5* hotel in Central Park South for 148 after 10% discount :-) . Now I have to get one night stay hotel for Sep 11 check-in and Sep 12 checkout.
