24cities Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Hello. I've been researching hotels and scouring the forum for tips. My friends and I are heading to Chicago 10/4 - 10/7 and wanting to stay close to downtown/nice areas in Chicago. I found this hotel which guessing by other posts is the Thompson Hotel $169/nt 2 adults 2 children $190/nt 3 adults 1 child $210/nt 4 adultsPet friendly Pet friendly - terms applyBoutique Hotel Property offers a distinctive, unique or eclectic atmosphere. Many boutique hotels are smaller, hip properties in an urban setting, or renovated hotels with historical flair.Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free.Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.M question is more along the lines of should I take a risk and put 2 adults 2 children to lock in the cheaper price. Would they give me two beds? When I pay on Hotwire do they tell me what type of room is booked? I went to the Thompson hotel's site and when I put in 2 adults 2 children only rooms with two beds showed as available, the same with 3 adults 1 child. Thank you in advance!
thereuare Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!HOTWIRE guarantees that the room will accommodate everyone you include on your search... while this often means two beds in the room, the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc. It's a choice you have to make based upon your risk tolerance... if you book for 2adults/2children the hotel could charge your more if they know that you're actually 4adults instead of 2adults/2children.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of futher help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
