JK001 Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 Hi,Links clickedAny advice would be great! Jk
AaronJB Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 I'm guessing $300 "all-in" (including taxes/fees) may not be enough for a 4.5/5* for these dates. Is TS the only acceptable zone?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches..
JK001 Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 Hi,I'm only there for 1day so want to be pretty central. My knowledge of NY is obviously limited but I've been told times Sq is the best area to stay.Would much would you think I would have to bid for a 4 1/2 ?I have no problems going for a 4* but after reading reviews I don't want to go lower incase I get a bad/lower rated hotel. Thanks againJK
thereuare Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 My knowledge of NY is obviously limited but I've been told times Sq is the best area to stay. While i wouldn't avoid Times Square.. i wouldn't necessarily target it either, as it's just not necessary. There are plenty of other zones in the city that prove to be just as convenient for the average visitor (and less expensive).MTE, MTW, TS, CPS, MSG, and Chelsea should all be fine and convenient for your one nite stay, but ultimately it's up to you if you only want to bid Times Square or if you are willing to accept these other zones as well.If you decide you are only willing to stay in Times Square, PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in Times Square for $239/nite (Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center), and using the discount link code in my signature you can get an additional 10% OFF, bringing your equivalent room rate down to $215/nite.Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly based upon your needs. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. JK001 Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 Hi. I saw that 4* in the express section and was tempted to book it.I'm planning to bid tonight to see how I get on. I may just take that one but will use your links and discount code!I guess the express section has different hotels all the time so no rush to book that one? Is that right? Thanks again!
thereuare Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 The PRICELINE EXPRESS offers do change frequently, but that also means that the offer above can disappear at any time (and could be replaced by a more expensive hotel). If you like the zone, star rating, and price i would first try to beat it by bidding on PRICELINE (which may not be successful given the current coupon code) and if that is rejected i would take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. JK001 Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 Hi,Yes that one has now gone and replaced with a 4* for over $300.I think I will try and bid today and if unsuccessful I will keep an eye on the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. If successful should i post my price here for all to see?
thereuare Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 If you win a hotel please use the EDIT TO REPORT WIN button on the lower right corner of this page which will give you a form to use to edit the topic title as well as a text box to provide a post with the details of your purchase. If you should ultimately do something other than PRICELINE or HOTWIRE please still conclude this thread with whatever you do decide to do for this trip (and check for and use the links in our Support Page for your hotel direct purchases where we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies)thanskforusingGood luck and let us know how it goes or how we can be of further help along the way.
