singerofsongs Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Hey all, This is my first time posting so thanks in advance. I am looking to stay in a 5 star hotel in a nice hotel that's relatively convenient w/o a car. I think the Venitian is an absolutely lovely hotel and would ideally really want to stay there. It says that the average is 82 dollars....which seems exceptionally low. I know it's the off season, but it's Halloween weekend. What is the jig? Any idea what hotel it would be and why it's so cheap?
thereuare Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. You should ignore any average rate shown by PRICELINE as it's often not accurate and not meaningful in a bidding strategy. However, with this notes, I don't see any problem getting a 5* hotel for $145 or less for these dates.Did you only want to bid the Strip North zone... or is the Strip South zone acceptable as well? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please confirm which zone(s) you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. singerofsongs Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 Thanks for the tips. I would prefer the North to the South because I want to stay at a gambling casino and the Vdara, a non-gambling casino, is one of the less expensive hotels 5* hotels in the south. The Venitian, Palazzo, and Wynn ( the 5 stars in the north) would all be fantastic options. So really, I want a 5* on the North Strip for as little as I can get it. Also, as clarification, the Trump Hotel is considered part of the "vicinity" and not the "north strip", correct? This is another hotel I would prefer not to get. Thanks!

thereuare Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Looks like I'll have to take the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. You shouldn't view the express deal as a consolation prize... it's within your original budget and meets your criteria, and when there is a big coupon available it is not uncommon to not be able to beat the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with your bidding. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. AaronJB Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board - I'd guess the Venetian would be a possibility, with the Encore being a much lesser possibility.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
