Priceline Hotel: Midtown Strategy needed for 4* 12/26-28

Will be in NYC for 2-3 nights. Will prices be ridiculous over the Holiday? Any thoughts on likely price range or strategy?

This is actually a little stretch of time that is (at least traditionally) less expensive before prices become extremely expensive for NYE and the day before.

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay and which zones exactly would be acceptable?

If you include more zones you include your chances of a better deal as it gives more hotels the ability to accept your bid at a lower price. If MTE is the only acceptable zone i would bid as following over the next few days:

When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.
