curlygirl902 Posted September 1, 2013 Report Posted September 1, 2013 Going to be in New York from September 5-9, 2013. Looking for a hotel, ideally at least 3.5 stars (but would be willing to take a 3 start if I can't find what I want).Tried naming my own price last week up to $140 for a four star in all zones in Manhattan with the exception of Harlem but was not successful. There is a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in Times Square area for a 3 star for $147, which I believe is the Paramount. I had an email from Priceline after my unsuccessful bidding for various other express deals which are not for my exact dates (ex. for Sept 5-8). Is there a possibility of having an option to extend your stay with express deals similar to what you sometimes get by naming your own price? Or since these deals don't come up for my specific dates does that mean there would not be availability?I will likely try bidding again and if unsuccessful, take one of the express deals since it is only a couple days before I leave.
thereuare Posted September 1, 2013 Report Posted September 1, 2013 There is this 3.5* Empire State Building property for $156/nite and this 3.5* Downtown hotel for $157/nite.Using the discount code link in my signature gives another 10% OFF bringing your room cost for each of the above equivalent to a $140 bid for a 3.5* hotel (which you have already bid and were rejected for)... do either of these work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and not the links in any emails that PRICELINE may send) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
curlygirl902 Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 We ended up booking the Lexington Hotel for $101 a night through the regular PRICELINE search option (not a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal or naming a price).
