Priceline Hotel: Bidding for a week in Philly?

Hello,

My friend and I are planning to be in Philly from Oct 16th to Oct 23rd. It would be a total of 7 nights, although we plan to take the train to NYC on Friday the 18th and spend the night in NYC, although we are fine with not checking out of our hotel in Philly for that one night. My question is, how should we bid this? Should I bid for all 7 nights...should I bid 4, then he bid 3, etc. We realize that if we bid 4 nights then 3 nights we most likely would have to change hotels Sunday morning. We already have the downtown Sheraton at $119.00 all 7 nights on a friends and family rate, although we would prefer a 4 star and would pay more money for a 4 star.

Advice on how to bid this?

Thanks!!

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Also, i'm not sure what plans you have in Philly, but i'd suggest splitting your stay more equitably between Philadelphia and NYC as one nite in NYC isn't nearly enough to get settled in and really enjoy the city.

Lastly (as i recently made this trip) Amtrack service between the two cities starts at $39/each way with at least a 2 week advance purchase (some trains increase in price near the 2 week mark as trains begin to fill up)... if on a tight budget there are also inexpensive buses between the two cities starting at $1 each way (but more often you should expect to pay $10-$20 unless you book very early)
