Traveling November 14 to 19.

Hotel reviews says "Still gathering reviews"

List of amenities is:

Pet friendly

High-Speed Internet Access

$222 per night

Saw a similar post but no final report. Would Priceline be cheaper?

My best guess would be Mansfield Hotel.

If not knowing the possible name of the hotel is important can you most of the times undercut the HOTWIRE rates with PRICELINE

I would be willing to spend up to about the same amount - $225 - trying Priceline for 4.5* hotel in Midtown East, Midtown West, Times Square-Theatre District, and possibly Central Park South. Hotel name is less important if upgrading to a 4.5*, but not sure if that is a reasonable price for these dates (Nov 14-19).

Seems like there are plenty of rebid zones.

Does it help that I am getting two rooms?

I'm doubtful that $225 would be enough for a 4.5* hotel in one of the zones you're bidding, but if you want to givei ta try, let us know if we should include CPS or not and we'll advise accordingly.

However, i'll also add that i think there are better options than the MTC property above...

PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in Times Square (with a 9.0/10.0 user review rating) for $234/nite... using the discount coupon code in my signature gives an extra 10% off and brings the room rate down to the equivalent of a $211/nite bid.

There are cheaper options as well, but i'm not really sure what you're looking for from this stay, but based upon your desire for a 4.5* hotel, the 4* TS property above caught my eye due to it being cheaper than the hotel you asked about and the very high user review ratings.

Clicked through above link and tried bidding up to $230 for 4.5* CPS, MW, and Times Square-Theatre District. Guessing I am a quite a ways off on price anyway?

The Mansfield Hotel had mixed reviews, but the offer on Priceline Express looks pretty good. A 9/10 is a good user score, right? Sometimes it seems as if user ratings are high but written reviews are mixed.

If I tried bidding a 4 star Times Square on Priceline, there is no way to tell if I will get the hotel with 9/10 user rating?

That PE deal didn't last long. Considering now a Hotwire deal for 95% recommended hotel, at $220/night.

Does this sound like the Doubletree Guest Suites? Amenities from pop up are:

Booked the room and it was in fact the Doubletree Guest Suites. Pleased with this deal. Never been to NYC and apprehensive about being right on Times Square, but it sounds like a nicer hotel and larger rooms than the Mansfield. Thanks for all the help.

Congratulations on your success!

I think you'll be just fine here and as a first time visitor will enjoy Times Square... i often recommend that users don't focus exclusively on staying in this area, but don't suggest avoiding it either (we just hear too often "i only want to stay in Times Square"). If you ever feel it's too crowded, or if you need a taxi and see that Times Square has a lot of traffic, just make a right upon existing your hotel and walk east on 47th St and grab a taxi on Sixth Ave.
