sunset Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Link used. Purchased on Hotwire US but paid in £'s as UK based. This made price £859 total for the 7 nights,(about $1,340) rather than $1403 plus exchange fees on my credit card.Got this for a friend. The Chicago Marathon on the 12th made this tricky, as did needing a weeks stay. I have been bidding on Priceline for the 7 nights stay up to $150 a night without success which would be about the same as the Hotwire price when tax, priceline fees and exchange fees are taken into account. I could have split the stay and got it for £10 pn less but Saturday was always going to be expensive to book alone. My friend is very happy.Details were: 4 out of 5 trip adviser.4.5-star Hotel in Chicago Gold Coast - Lake Shore DriveThis Hotel features the following amenities:Pet friendlyBoutique HotelSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterRestaurant(s)High-Speed Internet Access
yellowdog Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Thanks for using the HOTWIRE links on the board :) Good to see that your friend is satisfied with the outcome. Yellowdog.Ps. please post the price/night before tax/fee's in USD in the future.
AaronJB Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Extremely nice (especially during the Marathon and for a week-long stay in October in general) deal for this renovated (it was the Sutton Place, and has is currently closed while they renovate and prepare for an October re-open as the Thompson) property in a great location. The Original Pancake House across the street (or Tempo nearby on Chestnut, although that's cash only.)Hope your friend enjoys their stay.
