CA2Indy Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Hello there folks..I am hoping that someone can recommend a smart way to approach my situation.I am planning on taking my girlfriend to Vegas. We would also like have her mom join us. What would be the most economical way to do this with getting an additional room for her mom?I am looking at packages (car, hotel, air). My initial thoughts are to get a package and then a separate room at the same hotel on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.Thoughts anyone?
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 If you are booking a package there is usually an option to select the number of rooms... the problem with using PRICELINE / HOTWIRE is that there is no way to ensure that you'll receive the same room that you had purchased thru the vacation package (or maybe that is the idea ;) )With the above noted, if you're flexible in the hotel you will receive, it is often cheaper to use the opaque side of PRICELINE / HOTWIRE (especially right now since using the discount code link in my signature gives you 10% off of Las Vegas PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels) and purchase the airfare and/or car rental 'a la carte' on their own.The way to start is to see how much a package would cost you, then...1) see the cost of airfare on its own2) see the cost of a car rental (use HOTWIRE to see rates since you can use the 'opaque' side of their service for the car rental)3) see the cost of Las Vegas hotels at HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESSCompare the cost of the package vs. the sum of items #1, #2, and #3 above.... unless i'm not understanding your question and your mom would be heading to Vegas from a different starting location then you and your girlfriend. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
