P63110 Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 First I started by clicking on the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links that are routinely posted by Administrator "thereuare". I am looking for help identifying a hotel in London in the 4* London : City of London - Towerbridge - St. Pauls Cathedral area.My dates of stay are September 25 - 29, 2013. The amenities are currently listed as the following:Free InternetPet friendlySmoke Free RoomsBusiness CenterLaundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessAccessible path of travelIt has a 4.5 out of 5.0 on TripAdvisor and 90% favorable reviews on Hotwire.I was also looking for help identifying the 3* hotel in the same area, but I figured that might warrant a different thread.Thank you in advance.
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. The easiest way to see the complete list of amenities is to do a search at BiddingHelper.com and use the new "Hotwire Easy View" tab... do you now see more amenities then you have listed above? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
P63110 Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Posted August 26, 2013 I checked the BiddingHelper.com link, and using the Hotwire Easy View tab it listed the following amenities:Free InternetPet friendlySmoke Free RoomsBusiness CenterLaundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomRoll-in showerThat does list a few more amenities, but only those in terms of accessible rooms. I'm not sure how helpful that is. Does anyone have any ideas?Thank you again in advance.
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 The accessible amenities are part of the amenity set and we always need the complete list of amenities in order to research (this also confirms that we are both seeing the same hotel on our searches)The Bermondsey Square Hotel would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. P63110 Posted August 28, 2013 Author Report Posted August 28, 2013 Sorry for asking for assistance twice, but the likely 4* candidate was a bit far from where I need to be.Again, I began with clicking on the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links that are routinely posted by Administrator "thereuare". I am now looking at a 3* hotel in the London : City of London - Towerbridge - St. Pauls Cathedral area.My dates of stay are September 25 - 29, 2013. The total amenities on Bidding Helper are currently listed as the following:Free InternetPet friendlySmoke Free RoomsBusiness CenterLaundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessIt has a 3.5 out of 5 rating on Trip Advisor. If anyone could help me identify this property, it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance!
thereuare Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 I don't have a guess or any insight into this 3* property.Keep in mind that star ratings in Europe are a bit more generous then their US counterparts, and 3* hotel may be more like a 2*/2.5* in the US.With a 4.5/5.0 TA rating for the 4* property above, why not that one? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. P63110 Posted August 30, 2013 Author Report Posted August 30, 2013 You have a good point. Even thought it's a little further, I'm thinking of booking that 4*. Either way, I will let everyone know what I end up doing.
thereuare Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Good luck.. and please use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board for your bidding, searches, and purchases.Let us know if we can be of further help. P63110 Posted September 1, 2013 Author Report Posted September 1, 2013 It ends up that because of other arrangements, I only needed to book a hotel for one night. I clicked on the same four star that we discussed before. For Wednesday, September 25, 2013 to Thursday, September 26, 2013, the rate rose to $192 for the night. There was $51.72 in taxes and fees for a total of $243.72. The hotel was the following:H10 London Waterloo284 to 302 Waterloo RoadLondon,GBThe website lists the booking costs, taxes included as:Booking cost (taxes included):$ 271.18£ 175.00Given that, I'm not sure this was much of a savings, but it does look like a nice hotel. For the list, the amenities were the following:Free InternetFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessSpa ServicesAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomThanks again for all of your assistance.
