huang Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Hi,I want to bid a 4* hotel in Copley Square area for two nights (10/8, 10/9). From what I saw on the forum it seems that I can probably get a room for less than $200 per night? I do not want to pay more than $200 (and of course the lower the better), and I can accept Boston Common area. What would be the best strategy to bid on priceline? Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Current rates for these dates are high and i actually think you may have trouble getting a 4* hotel hotel $200 or less at this time. If you want to give it a try...When bidding 4* in Boston you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Copley...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Boston Common...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Copley and Boston Common...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. huang Posted August 22, 2013 Author Report Posted August 22, 2013 HiThank you so much! I'll give it a try. So what rate should I be looking at if $200 doesn't work? I'm not sure if I want to go down to 3.5*.

AaronJB Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Based on rates I'm seeing, I think a 4* may take $235-255, but you have time to try (and I would recommend doing so) between $200 and $235, moving higher by $5's.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
