Hi all,

I'm very new into priceline and would like to try my chances in the upcoming NYC trip.

I will visit NYC during 11/7 - 11/10...

Would like to get an hotel with 5*, 4.5* and 4* near TS and thinking of a nightly budget of max. 200$.

What would be the strategy to start bidding through priceline?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks...

Welcome to Betterbidding.

This is unfortunately a very busy period in NYC and rates are definitely on the high side. Is TS the only acceptable zone? A 4* or higher for $200 in NYC in TS during these date/s is unfortunately unlikely. However, you may be able to get a 4* in MTE, ESB or a couple of other nearby zones (MSG, for example) for within the $175-225 neighborhood. HOTWIRE does have a 4* for $198 in the Empire State Building area.

Hi,

I find a deal in hotwire with the following;

4 star hotel - Empire State Building Area

November 7 - 12th

General amenities

Boutique Hotel

Property offers a distinctive, unique or eclectic atmosphere. Many boutique hotels are smaller, hip properties in an urban setting, or renovated hotels with historical flair.

Restaurant(s)

Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.

Laundry Facilities (self-service)

<amenity names only please... not descriptions>

Any ideas which hotel this could be?

Thanks,

Hi,

We will be travelling to NY in November between 7-10 and looking for a price around 200$ with 4 stars in the areas CPS, TS, MTW...

Is the price realistic for this search?

Thanks...

This is unfortunately a very busy period in NYC although prices - while expensive - are a little less than what I'd expect. I think $200 is going to be difficult for these date/s in these zone/s (especially if you are looking for $200 "all-in" (including taxes/fees), but it's probably not far off. Would MTE be acceptable?

Have you bid for this stay at all yet?

What was it about the HOTWIRE property that you inquired above that you didn't like that you decided against what one?

If you'd like help with a bidding strategy which zones, by PRICELINE name, are acceptable?
