shudd1967 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Thinking about doing Priceline to try and get a better hotel at hopefully a bargain price. Never used priceline before and would ideally like to stay in Times Square or Empire building areas, I have been to NYC before but it is my daughters first time. Any tips, what sort of prices etc should I bid? Ideally would like 4 star if possible.
shudd1967 Posted August 18, 2013 Author Report Posted August 18, 2013 but thats it! Dates 16th - 19th Dec. £235 to £90 GBP prices quoted. Any ideas? Clicked through the HOTWIRE link on this site.
AaronJB Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. This is right on the border between one of the busiest periods of the year (12/1-15 +/- a few days) and a couple of weeks that are slower (12/16-29 or so.) I'd suggest considering areas aside from Times Square, which tends to be the busiest and most expensive zone. Midtown East is right by the ESB zone and is a zone worth consideration. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Clicked through the link on this site. Please keep all posts regarding this stay within this thread. Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.Additionally, just to confirm, there's no amenities showing? That seems a really good discount, it is supposed to be 4 star so I presume it can't be that bad......can it???

The less the better!

AaronJB Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 The UK site does show different listings at times. In general though, without any amenities showing it's not possible to narrow down which hotel it may be.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
