toledo Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 I'm adding another night to a Chicago stay. Was hoping to get the Westin again, but oh well.... Began bidding at $80 yesterday and got the message, "If you can raise your bid by $27 ($107/night)". I stopped bidding at $90. Today, when I tried again, I got the message, "If you can raise your bid by $18 ($98/night)". In both cases, I ignored the message and upped my 4* bid by $2 increments, using the Franklin Park, Hyde Park, Midway, Midway North, and Skokie areas. I knew that only NMA/Mag Mile had a 4*. Taxes and fees were another $21.58.
AaronJB Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 Congrats on your success. :)Not the Westin, but the nice thing is that the Intercontinental isn't that far. The other aspect of this property is that it has a really cool history, especially the pool. The pool is one of the first public pools on a higher floor and was originally built in the late '20's. More history on the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InterContinental_Chicago_Magnificent_MileThank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
