Hotwire Hotel: Need help IDing 4.5* hotel in south beach

Hi,

I'm new to this, so hopefully i'm doing this properly.

On Hotwire, Hotel only, 12/28/05 - 1/1/06:

Hotel is 4.5* in South Beach

Says it's a Resort.

Amenities: Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program, Business Center

Also...any suggestions for cheaper options that are in south beach and beachfront with a pool, but not necessarily resort.

The above hotel is a match for the Loews so that would be our best guess.

You can certainly find a South Beach hotel on the beach cheaper, but how low in star rating are you willing to go? (ie- even Hotwire shows a 2* on your search with Beachfront and Pool icons)

i'm not willing to go down to two stars. was looking for a 3.5 - 4 stars probably to splurge a little on this vacation.

but i was wondering, if i do end up going for the resort....will they put me in a room w/ one king bed or a room w/ two double beds. because i need a room with two double beds.

after reserving, would it be possible to call them up and change it to two double beds?? how likely is that they will do it?

All that is guaranteed is "sleeping accomodations for two people", after that it is at the discretion of the hotel.

After you know the actual hotel you can call and put in a request for your bedding preferences, but it is just that... a request, and may or may not be honored.
