Hello,

I'm planning a trip to seattle late August/early september, and I was wondering what area should I try to bid for? I read that DT is more central yet hotels and parking are expensive. Should I still try there or by lake union or space needle?

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Rates vary (sometimes substantially) from day-to-day, so rate/s are really going to depend on your exact date/s of travel. The downtown/pike place area is certainly the most popular/common. Parking is going to likely cost in the Space Needle area, as well. In terms of which area, it really depends on desired budget and date/s.

Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.

I think there may be more amenities associated with this property. If you go back to HOTWIRE and click this offer to get to the details page, then on the details page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above?

If you don't see anymore amenities so try this,

HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process.

This workaround has been successful in order to see the complete set of amenities:

· use this link to search HOTWIRE

· from the search results page click the offer for this hotel

· on the next page click BOOK NOW (no worries about purchasing by accident since no credit card information is entered up to this point)

· on the left side of the page click the 'See all amenities' link

This should show you the full list of amenities associated with each offer.

This is what I see when replicating your search,

Pet friendly

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

Accessible for the blind

Accessible for the deaf

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Roll-in shower

If you see above combo would my guess be Hilton Bellevue hotel.

Please remember to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help with this stay.

PS. please remember to follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing for this trip, even if you don't use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you're happy with the results and thank you for sharing your win with the board.

This property has a very nice restaurant on one of the top floors... i was uninspired by the food, but they do have a very nice Happy Hour with lovely views of the lake, which is worthwhile if you're staying at the hotel. During happy hour they have good wine and beer specials and a select group of appetizers at a discounted price... a very good deal to watch the sun set over the late and take in the view of the surrounding area.
