Greg W Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 So I have spent the last few days trying to "name my price" on a hotel deal in downtown Chicago, but they are rejecting my bid that is equal or greater than the express deal for the same area. So I am going to just go with a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal but would like some insight or help identifying the two options...Option 1. Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park-$158/night -4 Stars -8.0 Rating -Guest Favorite -Indoor/Outdoor Pool -Pets Allowed -Business Center -Fitness CenterOption 2. North Michigan Ave - River North-$159/night -4 Stars -No Guest Rating -Free Internet -Restaurant -Business Center -Fitness Center -Bed Choice AvailableI am hoping to stay relatively close to the lake. THANKS in advanceGREG
thereuare Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! Not too much to go on, but my guess for the Grand Park property would be the Hilton Chicago... for the NMA property, both the Rafaello and the Hotel Sax have previously been seen with this amenity set so either of these would be among the likely candidates (the Hotel Sax has been appearing a lot lately thru both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE so i would slightly favor that one as the more likely of the two), but these amenities are so common for a 4* hotel in the city that i wouldn't be too surprised if it was some other hotel entirely. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Greg W Posted August 15, 2013 Author Report Posted August 15, 2013 I ended up going with the Grant Park hotel and it was the Hilton Chicago. Doesn't show the best reviews on Trip Advisor for a 4 star property and is a bit further south of downtown than I was hoping. Hopefully it all works out!
thereuare Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Congratulations on your success! While perhaps not your first choice of hotel in the zone, glad to see it was what was expected and you were prepared for this outcome.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. AaronJB Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 I'd try asking if there was any way you could get a room with a view of the park. Yolk is a popular breakfast spot not far off at 1120 S Michigan.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
