dcsmith22 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I'm still trying to get a room in one of the 4* hotels downtown for Con weekend. Last year I caught a lucky break for $77 per night at the Westin Peachtree Plaza and booked it 2 weeks prior to Con. Thus far, they appear to be the 4* showing on both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS deals for what bounces between $119 - $122 per night but only for 8/29 - 9/4. Still keeping my fingers crossed. I have tried Name Your Own Price over the last fews weeks with no success. If anyone has ideas, I'm open to them!
thereuare Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Is this an optional trip and if too expensive you won't go... or are you going regardless but holding out for hopefully a better price? If the former, what price would make this trip worthwhile? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dcsmith22 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Report Posted August 12, 2013 I am definitely going. I have a room I can cancel up until the day before (I do this each year). I am just hoping to find a deal that gets my downtown like last year. It was great. If I can find that 4* under $100 I'll jump on it! The problem is that each year more and more people go to Dragon Con and there is a football game that Saturday as well so rooms are tough to find. I may never get a deal like last year. It could have been a complete fluke.

dcsmith22 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Report Posted November 15, 2013 I was not successful on this particular trip in getting my exact dates. I ended up booking the Westin Peachtree through HOTWIRE at $120 per night from 8/29 - 9/4. It stuck to have to pay for a day I wasn't there but it got me the hotel I wanted in the thick of it for Dragon Con. Am hoping for better luck for next year.
