tamaragrunenwald
I have a seminar on October 6, 7, 8 a few blocks from McCormick place. I've been looking for hotels between McCormick place and Midway Airport, and the only thing I can find under $100.00 are O'hare hotels.I was hoping for a 2 1/2 star + for under $100.I don't mind splitting my bids at all. My question is: At this late date, would I have better luck if I try booking the October 7th date on October 6th and the October 8th date on October 7th (when there may be a possibility of cancellations).Or should I look for an area farther away in order to get a better price.Tami Link to comment
thereuare
I never recommend waiting until the day before... if there are no cancellations then you'll be stuck paying rack rates. As well, even if there are cancellations, and the hotel is near-full, they may not even lower the price, knowing that any 'walk-up' guest is going to be desperate and not in a position to shop around.
