Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Trump Tower International

Hi...

would like to know if you can supply a bidding strategy for Las Vegas 5* strip....is there a big reason people opt for N vs S strip or vise versa??...is it just basically because they might want a particular property? Is S strip usually a cheaper win?... I am not that fussy about what we win for a 5* ...it can be strip N or S...it is basically just a quick starting point for us as we are flying into vegas & then renting a car & heading out to Utah for national parks excursion...

so that being said a bidding strategy for Oct 13 for 2 nights would be appreciated, & also will need to bid another stay for 1 night Oct 23 to stay as we fly home the next morning...ultimately I would prefer to stay UNDER 100.00, do you think this is possible? I can also adjust the $$ amounts on my own in the strategy if need be...

thank you very much!!! :D

Strip North vs. Strip South is just a matter of preference and/or trying to target/avoid specific hotels (although i don't think there is any one hotel that is a 'dog' and users try to avoid, again, it comes down to preference for one hotel/zone vs. another)

If the Trump is an acceptable option Las Vegas Strip North Vicinity then i think under $100 should be easy... if you want to stick to Strip North and Strip South then you may be looking at $100 or just a touch more.

Resort fees are extra and payable directly to the hotel... at the 5* level most resort fees are in the $20-$30 area. However, there have been some reports of PRICELINE / HOTWIRE users being allowed to opt out of the resort fee at some properties (Trump, Venetian, Palazzo, Treasure Island) but this is a BIG 'your mileage may vary'. (note that if you opt out of the resort fee you also don't get the included amenities such as internet, fitness center access, etc, etc)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we will advise accordingly.

Thank you.

so is it safe to assume the "resort" fees are only on 5* properties?...maybe we could opt for a 4* south strip...but I just looked on Hotwire...can u identify this property?...seems like a great price even w/ the resort fee...

No, all reported HOTWIRE and PRICELINE 4* hotels got resort fee's. Please read this link: Las Vegas resort fee's

5* the strip north area. 10/13 2 nights

I think there may be more amenities associated with this property. If you go back to HOTWIRE and click this offer to get to the details page, then on the details page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above?

If you don't see anymore amenities so try this,

HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process.

This workaround has been successful in order to see the complete set of amenities:

· use this link to search HOTWIRE

· from the search results page click the offer for this hotel

· on the next page click BOOK NOW (no worries about purchasing by accident since no credit card information is entered up to this point)

· on the left side of the page click the 'See all amenities' link

This should show you the full list of amenities associated with each offer.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.

that is why i couldnt match it with the "hotel list" on this site...now my guess is the Trump, agreed?...hesitant as the reviews seem not so great....havent stayed in any of the 4* hotels on the strip in the few times I have been...anyone know if they are nice?...Im figuring they cant be that bad, just not the luxury of the 5*???

Yes, best guess would be the Trump.

I always take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. And keep in mind with TA reviews that many of those people paid full price, which is often significantly more, and may have different expectations at those price points. And for some reason is the TA people eager to complain over ridiculous things.

Please remember to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help with this stay.

I haven't read recent reviews of the Trump, but i think the general complaints are due to the off-strip location, no casino, and it lacks the fanfare/themse of the other 'over the top' hotels in Vegas. For those simply looking for a nice hotel, without (and away from) the glamor and glitz of Vegas, then this may be a good choice... for anyone looking for a Vegas experience it falls short.

What is your budget per nite before free/taxes for this trip?

Thank you everyone for your input/help....went ahead & jumped on the above mentioned Hotwire offer & it was the Trump...clicked thru your HOTWIRE link...for 88.00 p/n its really hard to beat that price...I actually stayed in this hotel for 1 nite a few years back...we ended up switching hotels because I didnt want to sleep on the pull out couch more than 1 nite (i went with my aunt). We moved to the Bellagio & I remember really liking the Trump better!!...The only downfall was the sleeping arrangements...This time going with hubby...king bed will be awesome & if we need a vegas strip "fix" we can take the shuttle they offer or just walk ...I do agree the bad reviews are the cranky ones with nothing better to do than complain about piddly issues, or want the glitz of the casino etc right there..

If they let us waive the resort fee then thats fine...if not...oh well...1 question...will the use of the pool fall under resort fee? Im thinking yes, if so Ill only ask to waive the resort fee for the 1st nite.. B)

Congrats on your success. :)

Very good deal for this property and glad you are looking forward to your stay.

Resort fee details should be listed at the hotel website - I'd be surprised if pool was under the resort fee, but I'd check w/the hotel.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

Pool access may or may not fall under the Resort fee... but the Shuttle service you mentioned likely does (although not sure if/how the shuttle driver would confirm if you paid the resort fee or not.. seems tacky to ask each guest as they get on the shuttle)

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

Have a great stay.
