Hotwire Hotel: Downtown/Lake Austin 3.5* and 4* - 10/2 - 10/7

Hi all,

I'm looking to book for 10/2 - 10/7. This is during the ACL festival so things are higher, and location is important to me as we want to be close to the festival. I have a fully-refundable room at the Embassy Suites (next to the Hyatt) but would love to find something better if I can. The rate for the Embassy Suites is $229, so a 3 or 4 star that is near the venue might be an improvement.

I see one 4* available on HOTWIRE now with the following amenities:

Any idea what these might be? Or thoughts on other hotels that are near Zilker park, or on the southwest side of downtown?

Assuming you made your refundable back-up reservation directly with the Embassy Suites, please check for and use the links in our Support Page for your hotel direct purchases whenever possible where we have links to most of the major online booking agencies and hotel chains, including the Embassy Suites.

Best guess for the 4* would be the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center and for the 3.5* my guess would be the Doubletree Guest Suites Austin.

If the above do not work for your needs you can also use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which does a great job of visually showing hotels near almost any address and quickly being able to see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating or how much you might save by staying a little further out from your ideal location.

Thanks so much for this. Given the locations of those two, I think I'll likely stick with the embassy suites. Your sister site is definitely helpful, showed me what the Hyatt would cost, but I think it's more than I want to pay.

Will keep my eye out and let you know if I do book something else!
