MuffinzZ Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 Me and my girlfriend will go to DC for the 1st time for vacation. Originally we wanted NYC but DC is obviously much cheaper...So DC it is..Not familiar with DC though so basically we'd like to stay at downtown where all the craziness is, which is probably Dupont Circle and White houseThe price we'd like is maximum 100 all in for a 3.5 or 4(much preferred of course) big name fancy hotel!!!!And of course, the less the better.Got my eyes on a 4 Star Hotel in Dupont Circle - Woodley Park Area for $87/night Express deal... Free Internet in public areasPets AllowedRestaurantBusiness CenterFitness CenterWondering what it is and if there is a way to bid lower for this hotel...Looking for strategy!!!!! Thank you guys!!!!!!!!
thereuare Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 Me and my girlfriend will go to DC for the 1st time for vacation. Originally we wanted NYC but DC is obviously much cheaper...So DC it is..If you have ruled out NYC can you please conclude your Priceline NYC thread indicating that your bidding was unsuccessful (assuming you have tried the strategy posted) and that you have now decided to switch destinations. This will help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone.Wondering what it is and if there is a way to bid lower for this hotel...Regardless of what hotel this is, there would be no way to bid for this specific property. If you want to try bidding for a hotel with an $87/nite maximum bid, are both the Dupont Circle zone and the White House zone acceptable OR did you only want to bid the Dupont Circle zone? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MuffinzZ Posted August 11, 2013 Author Report Posted August 11, 2013 Sorry...kinda new here..And sorry again for not making myself clear...I'm just trying say that I can't use NYOP and win a worse deal than EXPRESS DEAL, can I...So I guess the maximum price would be 87/n and preferably 4* hotel in Dupont Circle only. Thanks so much!!!!Always used the forum PRICELINE link!!! No doubt about that!
thereuare Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 I'm just trying say that I can't use NYOP and win a worse deal than EXPRESS DEAL, can I...How do you define 'worse'... could you win a hotel that is not as nice or highly rated? Yes. Could you end up paying more for a hotel by bidding... YES, but you won't since you're smart enough to stop your bidding at $87/nite. ;)When bidding 4* in the Washington DC area you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Dupont Circle...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $87Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
