Blister Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 We are going to see several Broadway shows so I would like to be close but I really want the best bang for my buck. Would like to preferably keep it under $350/night. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
thereuare Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 As it appears you're already well aware, rates are vary high for these dates (i think the UN is in session).I am seeing what i believe to be:The Lucerne for $312/niteInk 48 for $329/niteEach of these are very highly rated but not necessarily the best location. The Millennium Broadway Hotel for $323/nite gives you a better location but not as nice of a hotel. If you're willing to drop to 3.5* you can save some money with the Yotel Times Square at $275 which gets very good reviews and is walkable to the theatre district (and two avenues from the subway for when you're looking to head elsewhere)... this may be the best bang for your buck that meets your needs but is also a half star lower then what you originally stated you were seeking (maybe given the high user reviews it's acceptable?)Any of the above of interest? You can try bidding on PRICELINE but then you're subject to any hotel in the zone that you bid and it's harder to find the 'best bang for your buck' since you can't take a guess as to which hotel in the zone you may receive. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Blister Posted August 10, 2013 Author Report Posted August 10, 2013 I would be willing to go to a 3.5* for sure. Really just looking for a clean quiet room. I looked at the yotel and the rooms seem really really small so that made me a little worried. Where are you seeing these prices?
thereuare Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 I don't have first hand experience here but with real estate so expensive, rooms in Manhattan are notoriously small... some better/worse then others. The rates above are what i saw from HOTWIRE (taking my guess as to each property based upon the amenities associated with the hotel)... if you go with HOTWIRE you can have a guess as to what the hotel might be (to help minimize the chance of a 'bad' hotel in the zone or one with extremely small rooms (if that is important to you))... with PRICELINE you may get a slightly lower price but no way to target, or avoid, any specific hotel, so you may get the best or worse hotel within the star rating category that you bid or the one with the biggest or smallest rooms. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
