What could this be? Is it Crowne Plaza? But I didn't think that hotel has free internet in all rooms. Could it be the Silversmith?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Forgot to add the offer price is $214/night.

I know - the Marathon is a killer. We are travelling to see a concert with the Chicago Symphony and for a Broadway show at the Oriental Theater. We are willing to do the $214 for the Loop. Even in the nearby zones the best price is only about $175.

Do you think it could be Silversmith - which would be an ideal location for our itinerary!

For the 3.5* property in the originally about in the Loop zone, my best guess for this one would be the Wyndham Blake Chicago.

Unfortunately the 4.5* property has not yet been reported to the board (at least not 'as-is')... i think there are quite a few possibilities here: The Drake, Rafaello, Public Chicago, Sutton Place, etc. I'd wait to here AaronJB's thoughts as he is local to the area and may be able to offer some insight.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

I'm seeing a 4/5 tripadvisor rating - The Drake (although I continue to be surprised it is called a "boutique") would be a possibility. The Sutton is now set to become the Thompson Chicago in October - I would be surprised if the listing was showing with the Sutton's prior ratings as I'm seeing ratings, but that would seem to fit the description. The Rafaello would be a possibility although I'd be surprised if it was 4.5*. The Talbott also now appears to fall within this zone, although it would appear this property is not pet friendly as of a couple of years ago (and does not match on the tripadvisor rating.)

A listing with the same amenity set as the Public was previously reported with is showing at the 4* level for these date/s.

I'd say the Drake or Rafaello are possibilities. The Public, Talbott or a pre-open Thompson Chicago would be less likely.

I'm seeing this property for $147 for 10/13-15, then what appears to be the Wyndham Grand Riverfront is $233 for the first night, which averages out to about $175 and change. You would have to switch hotels, but a somewhat lower average cost per night.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Went ahead and booked the 4.5* Gold Coast location at $196/night for all three nights.

The property was the Thompson Chicago which will be opening in October. I am very happy with this property.

Thanks for all the input and advice from the board!

I guess since there were no Hotwire guest reviews/ratings given with this Hotwire listing it would make sense that the hotel was a pre-open property.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you're pleased with the results and you'll get to try out this new property!

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us update the Hotwire Hotel List.

Note that not all hotel show user reviews or feedback information from previous HOTWIRE guests, so the lack of this information wouldn't necessarily be reflective of a new hotel added to the system. We have also see the percent recommended number for the same hotel fluctuate from one search to the next, as well as disappear entirely, so this is typically not a good indicator to use when trying to identify hotels.

Enjoy your stay.

Great win for this property, which was previously the very nice Sutton Place (and is now in the process of a full renovation - article: http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2013/7/11/172917/375/hotels/Damn,_Thompson_Chicago_Looks_Good). Oddly, I was seeing ratings with this listing, but probably it was switching from search-to-search. Lake view rooms are an upgrade - while HOTWIRE reservations are for basic, non-upgraded rooms, if you're interested you can try asking at check-in.

I'll note that the Gold Coast Farmers Market is on on Saturdays (pictures: http://www.yelp.com/biz/near-north-chicago-farmers-market-chicago) and happens a couple of blocks North of this hotel on Division (between State and Clark, it closes Division.). Fun to even just browse around. I'll also note that it's a lovely walk North on State (you'll go through a beautiful residential area) up to Lincoln Park (and then LP Zoo.) The Old Town area is also a reasonable walk. Let us know if you have any city questions.

Enjoy your stay.
