mtp1980 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I usually book through HOTWIRE (using links from here of course), but am wondering if I might land a nicer property if I bid around the same price as I would pay on Hotwire. My budget is $1,000 USD for the three nights. I'd like to avoid Times Square, and the financial district (lower manhattan), but otherwise am open to staying anywhere else in Manhattan. I'll also be flying into Newark if you think that matter.....Anyways, any help/suggestions would really be helpful as I've never tried PRICELINE bidding! Thanks
thereuare Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 It comes down to your needs for this trip...PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but the latter gives you a little more information about the hotel including amenities and/or user review information (you can often use this information to take a guess as to which property it is that you may receive)So if lowest price is the most important aspect then PRICELINE may be your best option for this trip.. but if there are some amenities you want the hotel to have, a hotel that you're trying to target/avoid, or you would like to know what others have thought of the hotel that you are about to purchase, then HOTWIRE can be a better, although slightly more expensive, option.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we will take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
