e5cape Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 Hey guys,I am in need of your expertise again... saw the following on priceline express:1. 5* Las Vegas Vicinity South $131/nt from 10/30 to 11/3 "Guest Favorite" Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant, business center, fitness center Guest rating 8/102. 5* Las Vegas Strip North $142/nt from 10/30 to 11/3 "Guest Favorite" Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, free parking, restaurant, Casino, business center, fitness center Guest rating: 8/103. 4.5* Las Vegas Vicinity South $106/nt from 10/30 to 11/3 "Guest Favorite" Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant, airport shuttle, business center, fitness center Guest rating: 8/104. 5* Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South $181/nt 10/25 to 10/27 "Guest Favorite" Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant, business center, fitness center Guest rating 8/105. 5* Las Vegas Strip North $167/nt 10/25 to 10/27 "Guest Favorite" Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant, free parking, business center, fitness center, casino Guest rating: 8/10First, any guesses on which hotels these might be?Second, I saw in the winnings calendar for this time frame that someone scored Vdara for $118/nt which is pretty sweet. I would love to win a room at any 5* hotel in either LV Strip North or Vicinity South, but especially at the Cosmopolitan. Was wondering what tips you guys can provide if I tried to name my own price, given the info that the express packages already laid out for us as well as the win I just referenced. As for price range, I'd really like to keep it as cheap as possible (hehe) but definitely <$180/nt.Appreciate your help!

thereuare Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Do you need rooms for both sets of dates above or only one of them (ie- you want to add a few nites to your previous stay but you're flexible as to whether you add nites to the beginning or end of your existing dates)? If the 10/25-10/27 dates are alternate dates to 10/30-11/3 (and are either/or dates) then that request would stay here since it's the same stay... if you need both sets of dates the request for those dates would go in a new topic since it's a different stay. (hope that makes sense)Also, what is more important to you for this trip? If you're trying to identify the hotel you may receive beforehand then PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE is going to be your better option(s), but as you can see the PRICELINE EXPRESS amenities are not very descriptive and most of those amenities can fit almost any hotel in Vegas, so anything there would be a guess and not a high degree of confidence... there would be a higher degree of confidence with HOTWIRE offers. If price is your primary object then bidding on PRICELINE would likely be your best bet and we just get right into a bidding strategy if that is what you're going to try first (rather than take the time to identify so many hotels which may not even be looked at again if you intend to bid first and your bid is accepted) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. e5cape Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Sorry about this, thought I should have kept my posts from Priceline and Hotwire separate! To clarify for you, I am looking to book either dates 10/25 - 10/27 OR 10/30 - 11/3 (not both) to extend the win I had the other day (Oct 27-30 @ NYNY). I would like to stay at a 5* in las vegas strip south area. Really would love to win a room at the Cosmo, which makes me curious if any of the Priceline express deals or Hotwire might appear to be Cosmo... but when it comes down to it, I think the lower the price the better. I think I'd like to start my bidding at $90/nt (is this shooting way too low for the hotels?). Any tips are appreciated.

thereuare Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Are either set of dates still acceptable, as the 10/30-11/3 days looks to be quite a bit cheaper than the 10/25-10/27 dates, so the strategy would be different for each set of dates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. e5cape Posted August 9, 2013 Author Report Posted August 9, 2013 i am leaning more towards the 10/30 to 11/3 dates for numerous reasons... 10/25 to 10/27 probably won't happen.
thereuare Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 Are your dates for 10/30-11/3 confirmed that you're willing to purchase a non-refundable hotel for these dates OR are the dates still not confirmed? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
